Sick TSX755 Carb on a 770 Oliver needs expert

Hi All,

I could use some advice on a carb I've got torn apart. The carb is a Marvel Schebler TSX755 that has a buggered up nozzle and I can not get the dang thing out. The nozzle is the type that did not have a Nut machined in the nozzle, It did have a slot for a screw driver and the slot was buggered up to the point that a screw driver will cam out of the slot. I've tried heat and brazed a nut on the tube in hope that the nozzle would loosen but no luck. Finally the tube busted below where the tube exists the casting.

Any thoughts on how I should attack getting the nozzle loosened up so I can turn it out would be much appreciated?

Dave

Do you have the new tube?

If so, verify the thread pitch and size, drill the old one out with the proper size drill for the thread, tap out the remaining brass.

Steve,

I do not have the new nozzle yet. From pictures It appears to to have two sets of threads spaced apart. It could be both are the same thread size thou. I figured I would wait to make the purchase but your response was something that I hadn't thought of. I

I don't want to remind you of this Dave but using your own words, you really buggered it up LOL .... heat, heat, and more heat might have helped to begin with, now you got your work cut out for you.

Drill it in small precise steps. Not sure about your model number but a 435 uses a 3/8 x 24 NF tap.

Buy an oversized screwdriver and grind it to fit the new nozzle fully. You will have to grind off the shoulders to get down in the body. Use that for installation and put it up till next time.

You might brazed it to the cast bowl, good luck.
Set of gunsmith screwdrivers are a must on brass carburator screws not taper ground
