There are some interesting things going on here. Did someone hang the coil down on the side of the tractor? And, are the rod/levers some kind of lift/rockshaft? OEM or otherwise?

Hey! That could have been a picture of me! My
mother was always dragging me off of dad?s VA.
Looks like a early model, perhaps the tractor in the
photo was actually a Case V before the eagle hitch
system.

Yes it is different than the VA I have in the shed too, but my VA is a 1950. The tractor in the picture I believe looks like one of the very earliest models. These were component built tractors, and if o am not mistaken, the early engines were a off the shelf model, and not built specific for use in these tractors. Now I could easily be wrong on this, as I could have been built at least 20 years before me, lol

The Kid has his hand on the hyd lift lever. The hyd pump was mounted in the pulley housing and the rockshaft for cultivators was under the fuel tank with the linkage hooked to it. The rockshaft also powered the "Stockton" hitch which was used on mounted plows, and some other equipment, if equipped.
I think that might just be a piece of pipe with tab holding a hose that looks like a coil.---------Loren
