I know the general opinion of Belarus tractors is not good, but what can you tell me about this model? Tractor is a '93 model with only 900 hours. 4wd, diesel, excellent condition.

Tractor also has a front end loader. Owner, who bought tractor new, quit farming and is moving out of state.

In general they are tough and a bit unrefined. They work. If the price is right, it will make you money. Drive and operate it for a while before deciding. People made it, it is not a communist. Jim

Belarus tractors are now available through Minsk Tractor Works/Belarus. They have a wide parts network worldwide, and will supply you with parts for any Belarus tractor ever built. Parts should be the least of your concern. There has always been a dealer somewhere near me, and while not hugely popular, there is a lot of old Belarus tractors still labouring away on farms. The price of the tractor would be my main concern, and not parts availability. Fellas that bought these tractors, bought them to work the heck out of them.

One would have to be dirt cheap to buy. They are very crude when compared to most tractors in the US. Resale is terrible. I know of 6-8 Belarus 925s that where sold in the early 1990s around here. Cheap 100 HP MFWD tractors with a loader. I think they where some thing like $25,500 sale price. Most of those here had a cab and the AC was about impossible to keep working. Motors never gave any trouble. Clutch and transmission issue where the common failure here. I think the dry clutch was the main issue. Not a single one is left. They all had so many issues the owners gave up on them. The last two where sold to a salvage yard in Canada.

I think parts are not too bad to find using the internet but there will be few states side. Canada and Europe will be the main sources for parts. I do not know of a single dealership in the three states around me anymore. The dealerships around here where all repair shops that thought they would make good side money selling them. They all found out how terrible warranty service work is, especially on a Russian built tractor.

We had I forget the model number, but Canadian version of an 825. Only problem I would blame on the manufacturer was a poorly welded shift fork. Yes we had some other issues, but also were not the kindest operators. Aside from that, you need to be comfortable with oil leaks.
