F.E.L. mounted rotary cutters. Any thoughts?

I'm seriously considering getting a loader mounted rotary cutter, such as Lane Shark, Titan Implement TB One, etc. If any of you all have any experience, thoughts or suggestions, Would you please share them? Thanks in Advance.

The raise and drop will be a fun learning curve when the front wheels go over ridges/humps either up or down. Will need some sort of rearward protection from flying trash/material.
Will want a mfwd on the tractor to help with getting around if it is at all soft. This will not be something for the small tractor in order to counter the weight at the rear. What are you going to drive it with? Hydraulic or engine?

What tractor are you mounting it on?
If the mower is hydraulic drive you
may not have enough hydraulic flow to
operate it. The skid steer mowers
usually require 20+ gallons per
minute flow to operate effectively.

The problem with these type hydraulic units is the high flow will foam your oil and ruin your tractor!

I also would be concerned with hydraulic flow rate if you get a hydraulic drive model. Also adequate
hydraulic cooling, as well. The big advantage of a front loader mounted cutter would be the ability to
raise and lower quickly and raise to a higher level, which would be good for clearing brush, but not
necessary for light brush grass and weed mowing . A lot depends on what you want to mount it on and
your intended use. I don't own a front mounted cutter but have ran a skid steer unit. I t was impressive in
heavy brush, and I was glad there was a cab with a door on it.

I've watched the video on the lane shark looks good low flow hydraulic motor returns to sump. I would definately have a modern tractor and protection like helmet or a
cab.

A guy I work with has the lane shark you mentioned. He is pleased with it. His is mounted on 75 horsepower New Holland. I don't know what the basic requirements are for that particular mower. Certainly be a handy thing to have if you have a lot of lanes or fence rows to maintain.

SETX ..... hmmm, that's a pretty serious claim that you make. If that's true, perhaps you should let the company know that their product doesn't work very well and is ruining tractors. If it's really happening, I'm sure they've heard something about it. Are they still in business? Is your information fact or just something you heard?

Bill,
Thanks for stirring the pot. My mower was called a death machine. I was called many things that caused my post to go POOF.

About 10 years I made tree trimmer on front loader. Cuts up to 1 inch branches. That device, Mad Max, even scares me. I stay away from the business end. It can cut branches 10 feet off the ground.

I'M STILL NOT DEAD YET even though some people on YT has predicted my demise

Not hearing from a lot of experience???? Wonder if there would be more flats with a front mounted mower; front or rear tractor in heavy brush? Would
Think that any hydraulic issues would be solved by a PTO driven pump and reservoir?

Of the ones I've looked at either on video or in person, I'm leaning toward the Titan Implement TB One. It's U.S.A. made and they also offer a PTO driven hydraulic unit which would also help with the counterweight issues. Another plus is that I'm not far from a dealer. I'm most likely to use it on my MF 184-4. 62 hp., MFWD and 236 loader.
