It's planting time

I got the disk out and ran it over the lawn. It was extremely hard and dry.

Took many attempts going in different directions with disk so I could use terramite to remove it.

I removed 3 loads of sod. Good thing I took memory pills this morning. I successfully attacked trailer to truck and remembered to chain both dump trailer doors open.

Tomorrow I'll get the rotating laser out and shoot grade. Plan to get ground laser level before I have call contractor to plant a 3ox40x14 pole barn.

Finished my pad a couple weeks ago. Had 20 Tri-Axle loads of dirt brought in. Got it spread and tamped in 3 inch layers. Got my laser level out its with in a 1 1/2 all around. Having a 30 x 40 building built they should be starting on it with in the next couple weeks. Sure will be glad when its finished. Im sure you will to .

Yes an old dearborn. I loaned a guy who beat the crap out of it trying to disk over tree stumps thinking he could get rid of them.

ditchwitch,
I did the math. A 30x40 with a 10 ft apron the concrete costs $100/quarter inch. My last pole barn was +/- 1/4 inch. I let the rain settle the dirt.

North of where I want the barn the dirt runs uphill, so I plan to harvest my fill dirt from there so water can't run towards barn.

Its been so dry here in North Carolina where i live. It rained the week prior to all my dirt coming in. Finally dried up enough for the guys to start hauling got the pad finished in 3 days. Has not rained on the pad yet and its been 3 weeks finished. I did run the water sprinklers on it one day for a couple hours and i need to do it again. I think ill cover it with plastic after next time . That 20 loads cost me 3000.
