More on Farmall Gas Caps.......

I don't want to belabor this, but I passed the info along to a friend of mine who ranches in the Nebraska Sandhills.

He didn't know about it. He has four H's, each with its own dedicated job on the ranch, plus two more parts tractors that he took the gas tanks off of and used on reel motors for irrigating.

He was once burned on the face and hands from a flash fire caused by the exact problem these new caps are supposed to cure.

I've got 2 Farmalls, 4 Fords, an Oliver, a MM, an Allis.........most gas caps are the same basic design so why is farmall the only one swapping em out for the tall, odd looking ones?

Grandpa, I know at one time Ford had the same program. It may still be active also. I've been meaning to check on it but haven't got around to it yet.

Different people sued different manufacturers and ended up with different terms in their settlements.

I have read rumors at various times that Navistar was going to end the program.

When I was young, in the later '60s, I was plowing a river bottom with our '52 8n on real hot spring day, and when I stopped, for what ever reason, I heard a hissing. I opened the hood, and it was the gas cap venting. Something told me not to bother it, even though I was real tempted (youthful curiosity). If I had, I now believe gas would have spewed all over me and the hot engine. Mark.
