What do you do when you're smartphone won't fit in your bib?

Make a flip extension form an old pair of bibs.

I cut the flap and part of the pocket from a pair of bibs that got too close to battery acid.

I realize this isn't going to make a fashion statement. But it will keep my phone from falling out of bib pocket and taking a swim in the toilet or cracking the screen.

How is this for a Redneck invention?

When your hour glass figure over time turns into an egg with legs figure you'll wear bibs too.

I was the same way. The Samsung J3 was the smallest smartphone. After dropping and damaging 2 phones I got a good case that protects the screen. So I made a flap extension for my keys. My winter time Duluth bibs have a large zipper pocket. I'll never buy bibs without a zipper pocket. So I'm not going to look for the small smartphone, I'll look for bigger pockets.

George, I do not wear bib overalls, so I don't have to contend with that problem.

But can I still be an Old Phart if I insist on wearing Levis?

I wear overalls 99% of the time. Carry my wallet in the bib pocket. Those pockets are not wide enough to easily get the wallet in and out of, but I struggle with it. Maybe I need a smaller wallet. The hammer loop is so large that a heavy Estwing framing hammer will fall thru. Seems like the designers of overalls don't wear their products. If they did, changes would probably be made.

I wear Key bibs.
My smartphone Galaxy 7 goes in the left bib pocket and my wallet goes in the right. My Grandpa always carried his wallet in his bibs too. I agree I think the bib manufacturers need to rethink pocket sizes to adapt to new uses for the pockets. I love wearing bibs. I have ever since I was a little boy.

Verizon makes a Smart Flip phone that is 4G compatible. Verizon LG Exalt LTE VN220 - Silver - 4G Flip Phone

Back in the late nineties I had an ATT cell phone with the protruding antennae. The cell manuf came out with an ad that stated 'You don't want that clumsy large phone and we can offer you a nice small flip phone that fits all pockets. Now they want everyone to discard the convenient small flip with the LARGE smart phone that I see most people carrying because they don't fit a lot of pockets. Go Figure...???.. Being retired the last 15 years I don't have to be connected 24hrs. and can get by with my flip phone and laptop PC.

My old Berne bibs have a zipped pocket that holds my wallet nicely and the other front snap pocket holds my phone.

I bought a pair of house brand bibs from the new Blaine's Farm & Fleet near me but didn't check that the phone or wallet would fit the front pockets. I won't make that mistake again.

I have many bibs with zipper pocket.
Only Keys have the smaller snap pockets.
I would get any more Keys.

I won't carry a phone in my pocket. Most of the time, I don't carry one at all, unless I'm expecting a call, or working by myself in a field.
