After a rain I roll pole barn site.
Fill in the low spots, roll again. Got it within quarter inch. Hopefully contractor will get it built before winter sets in so I can get the floor poured.

The gravel on the end isn't pack because that will not be under the floor. Covered it

With gravel to keep contractors out of the mud.

This is what roller does the dirt.

Just for equipment storage you won't even need concrete with that nice crushed rock packed in there.

Not to ask dumb questions. Can you pour first and then build? Almost all of the buildings in my area that is how they do them. All of the utilities are in the pour. They next put up that folded metal framework. Nothing like a nice clean floor under your toys.

Man for a termite man that sure is good work..... LOL Looks good what was the final decision, fiber in the concrete or not?

Jeffcat,
Not a dumb question. There is a company, forever buildings, claims to to give you a free floor. They put down concrete and then attach poles to surface of concrete. Their prices are ridiculous.

I found a company that will build me another 30x40 pole barn for $4k more than I paid for one 10 years ago. However new barn are some upgrades.

14 ft walls vs 10.
9x12 insulated overhead door vs unlinsulated 8x12.

clear panels on each side under eves.

This is just for the barn only. I'll hire same concrete finisher and do my own excavating.

Wainscoting vs none.

Concrete may be a little more than 10 years ago.

I may have $75 invested in fuel hauling an estimated 40 ton of white rock.

jm,
Talked to too many people who don't like fiberglass. I finally got a hold of my old concrete finisher. He doesn't like it either. I took a close look at contractors garage floor, a foot long crack and finish looks like shattered tempered glass. 6 inch, 4000#, wire in floor.

When the fiberglass first came out it was for keeping parking garage floors from microcracking and getting freeze damage. It was never intended to replace rebar but to supplement rebar.

It has been misused ever since.

Jm,
Terramite and Jubilee were both needed to do the excavation, Along with the Dewalt rotating laser.
