Tire presser system 2008 ford hd

Any way besides black tape to unhook the tire pressure system on 2008 and above ford hd truck. Want to un hook so odometer shows. Changed to different rim with aggressive tread for winter. Help appreciated.
 
Pull the sensors out of the tires and put regular valve stems in. Sensors are great but when it comes to rotate tire , the dealer has to reset all the sensors , that way the dealer can do your tire rotations instead of you !
 
Yes it can be done. I put 19.5 tires on my F350. The signal is not strong enough to transmit through full steelbelt tires.

Google Forscan and start studying. Russian hackers are not all bad.
 
I just had new tires put on my Honda Element. Told Discount Tire salesman that I don't want nor use the sensors so when he changed my tires he put in metal, not rubber valve stems at no charge.....neat!!!! Don't know if the metal was because the Element is considered a rough terrain vehicle, or because the rims were cast aluminum, or because that's all they use and don't want any call backs, or what. Will tell you this, my first experience with the company and I am duly impressed with their professionalism....and prices!

The TPMS is not one of the things in the Texas vehicle inspection system so even though the Feds say new vehicles after such and such a date, have to be sold with them, you don't have to keep them.....in Texas anyway. Just had it inspected (before I changed tires) and asked the inspector as the TPMS light was on at the time.
 
Ya thank you big brother... Because some people couldn't or wouldn't check tire pressure we now have to deal with another idiot light and an additional expense when buying tires. The batteries last 7 to 10 years, just had to replace all 4 on my 2010 Silverado and next tire purchase will have to replace them on my 2013 Caravan.
