This is a little north of me up across the PA line. Not my tractor, but if I wanted one like that it seems like a fair price. What say those assembled here? Take it away at that price or try to negotiate something lower? And, BTW--Exhaust LIFT???
Farmall Cultivision

I had a '46 A with an exhaust lift, though it didn't work when I got it and I ended up getting rid of the tractor without ever bothering to get it working. It was basically an air cylinder--a valve sent exhaust gas into the cylinder to lift an implement--typically cultivators or similar. Once tractors such as the Super A came out with standard hydraulics it quickly disappeared--they were better than no lift mechanism but had troubles with, among other things, the hot exhaust gas causing seal failures.

Does not sound like a bad price for a running original tractor. Exhaust lift was not the best, but they did work. They were used on A, B, & BN tractors. Dropped when the Super line and C came out. If I wanted one, I'd buy it.

Thanks for the explanation, thought it might be something along those lines. Also sounded like it might not be the best way to get work done on a dependable basis.

It depends on what you want it for and how well it starts / runs. The price isn t bad and it s been advertised for at least 13 days so you should be able to get it for less. I use my 1946 for cutting grass. It has a woods 6 belly mower and does a really nice job. I don t know if they still sell the mowers but you see used ones from time to time. It makes for an excellent mowing machine for not a lot of money.

They sold a restored A with cultivators in ohio today for 1200. It had new paint, tires and a rebuilt vacuum lift.
