What critter has a point head? Is this a bird ,a goose ?

reminds me of one of my trips to tn. stopped at a roadside rest in ky. about 4 am. walking up to the door i saw a squirrel in the shrubs, i thought what's a squirrel doing out this far before daylight,..turns out to be a very large rat.

Jim, couple years ago someone gave my mom a bird feeder, I hung it on the back porch and filled with seed.

The birds liked it, but sure made a mess.

One night my wife looked out the window, saw the feeder swinging around "Look! There are squirrels in the feeder!"

I thought about it for a second, "Squirrels aren't out at night."

I turned on the light and there were 3 big rats on the feeder!

"Yep, the skinny tail squirrels are in it!"

My wife saw what they were, the feeder came down the next morning! LOL

That is an opossum. They eat anything and are not picky eaters. Also they eat ticks. Might not be the cutest critter out there, but they are quite harmless. He?s most likely foraging for grubs and other insects in the wood chips.

Supposedly flying squirrels do live here, but I've never seen one.

Come to think of it I've never seen one anywhere except on Rocky and Bullwinkle!

Maybe because it was dark! LOL

We have a healthy grey squirrel population here. Too many.
So I made a live squirrel trap. Consisting of a hardware cloth barrel shaped cage, four feet of 4" pvc drain pipe and some peanut butter.
Set out at dinner time and the next morning there were six squirrels in it.
To my surprise two of them were little flying squirrels.
They all seemed to be getting along but as I got close the grey squirrels started attacking the flyers.
I guickly shook out the cage releasing all of them.
But one flyer was too tore up and did not survive.

We have a Flying Squirrel that comes to our bird feeder on a regular basis. They love peanuts. Are out only at night, do not actually fly but glide from tree to tree. Can glide about 100 feet. They can do a lot of damage if they get into the attic of a house and can get in an opening a mouse would use. Live in Southern Wisconsin.

You have all kinds of friends come by at night . Do you know when the kittens are due yet or hasn?t the cats boyfriend Been back around ?
