I would love to plant some stuff here in
Alabama......but garden is way too wet.
20+ inches of rain in February. 6+ this
week.

Nice!! We'd have to scrape off some snow first... then wait for dirt to thaw. Though it is warming into
the 50's this weekend. Woo-hooo!

Ohhhw, the older style horse with the nursery bars. Those Kohler engines have a
bad habit of blowing parts violently if you get my drift. I keep my engine
about a 1/2" or a little more above the full line. When you are really digging
deeply all of the oil runs way to the back of the engine and there is no
splash! See you also have the little PTO disengage leaver for the tillers. Nice
thing to have. When you're garden bed is loaded with enough Bio mass that
machine will till up a storm. If you want to try the Ruth Stout hay bale
method give this a watch. Also plenty more on Utube. Let this hay rot down and
till it into the soil. Then do the bales again. You will end up with super
soil. Another thing to do is add Mushroom Soil. You can buy it at better garden
centers. It will give your garden a couple of years head start on bio mass.

I bought this Troy Bilt new in 1984. It's been my best tractor. It starts first pull everytime.

Bruce,

Yep, that would work.

Half of my black seeded Simpson lettuce last summer came from a patch that I had just let go to seed the previous fall.
Lettuce was also popping up in the gravel for probably 20-25 feet around my msnure spreader garden box.

I have an old troy built.
it has a B&S motor. I use mushroom compost. It has what my red clay likes. I live about 15 miles from a mushroom farm. I can get my dodge filled for 25.00 or I can fill it my self for free.. I filled it one time by hand. I get a load every year. Stan
