Own hydraulic system for moving implements with a pickup ? I have a 10 horsepower Honda motor and a single spool hydraulic valve now I need a pump and Reservoir

Why not get on of those electric over hydraulic units like is used on dump trailers, lift gates, etc? I have a couple of those pretty powerful. They are compact too.

I missed out on the chance to buy an industrial hydraulic pack cheap but didn?t really have the money at the time .

How many times a year do you need to move equipment with a pickup and how fast do you need to get it ready to haul? A manual pump might be more practical, easier to load into the pickup, and start anytime you want to use it. No gasoline to carry along, no oil changes. Leaves the Honda free for other jobs.

A hand pump would work but an engine powered unit would be handier for me . I move equipment a lot during the year and it?s easier to hook on then raise the implement. I have a motor and I have a valve might Have just had an idea about a pump and a tank to

Whynot just put it on the PTO on the transmission. Not live but no fooling with little gas engines. Also can just put a hoist tank and pump on there for the whole thing then plum the valve in the truck cab. Or a diverter valve on the truck hoist would work with a bigger truck on the job. Used to use those truck hoist pumps to lift the combine with when I was cutting wheat on the plains. A diverter valve then used a regular valve at the back of the truck. Would lift the A-frame trailers to hook on the pintle hitch.

I really want something I can put on and tie down when I need it and unload when I don?t If I bolt anything more to this truck I?m going to Have to put a drop axle on it

I have a couple ,one came off an old wrecker body and the other came off a new never used hydraulic lift gate that was sitting in the weeds at an auction, everyone else thought it was just a steel plate gave about $50,tailgate had protected the hydraulic unit from the weather works great.

For less than you can buy a pump and set that up you can buy a 12v unit and not need gas. And you can lift it in and out by hand.

I had one use for years to deliver my small squares, one I had I rigged to lift and run hyd motor really worked slick. it was a power mate think it was at time, got it from equipment dealer I used to setup machinery for back some 30 years ago. I could not put together items for what I bought it for. good luck when did not need lifted off with forklift, neighbor has it now last I knew, if closer I ask if he still uses it ,but we to far apart

I was looking on-line for a new unit for my dump trailer. Found some as cheap as 199 bucks with free shipping. If one will dump a 10,000 lb. load I don't know why one wouldn't work for your purpose. Allot lighter and easier to deal with.

I had a LIVE system on one of my pick ups while i was farming due to the fact i was farming ground all over the place where i could find it , And it saved time . I could run the tractor and plows down then instead of usen the tractor to go after the disc or planter i could use the pick up that was faster and leave stuff out of trans port so it would still be where i left it then back up hook up and lift it . Also came in handy when ya bought something at a farm sale and you wanted to get it out of there since none of the auctioneers around here offered loading services . Once you bought something it was your problem . Mine ran off a double Vee belt with and electric clutch and a ten gallon tank also worked the snow plow.

How about a log splitter pump? Tractor supply, Northern Hydraulics, ect. Google is your friend, $140-$160 range. As far as tank you would not need a high gallon tank as oil cooling would not be a problem due to short run time needed to stroke a cylinder then shut off.

I put one together maybe 20 years ago. 16 horse single cylinder Briggs that came on a trailer with a pump, Tank from a forklift I scrapped for the mast, valves from another scrapped out item I bought for the engine and some scrap steel to make it so I could handle with a forklift. Works like a champ, used it with the seed wagon till I got a tender with scale and its own hydraulics.

At most I have a bit over $200 if you figure the trailer the engine came on was my main expense, did have to make a couple hoses but I can count on it when needed. Just use it to dump a trailer now and then now. It is a bit bulky but when I built it I just wanted it about the same footprint as a pallet.

I'm voting for the self-contained 12V pump. But it would depend on how much movement you need in the cylinder vs the fluid holding capacity of the unit. Mine on the plow truck moves a single acting 12" stroke up and down all day when there's snow to move, and that blade is heavy. I found the unit in a junkyard many years ago.

I have a electric over hydraulic as seen in the picture. I made a small frame under it with angle iron so it can be moved easily. It can be moved to my two different trailers and removed to be stored inside. Ordered from eBay and was under $200 about 15 yrs. ago. It has lifted some heavy loads of gravel and such. Way easier to load into your pickup than that Honda.

I have a 12v pump I got off a rv slider. I used it for a dumpbed on my 1 ton. It has a scissor hoist with a big cylinder. It's not fast but I have dumped over 2 tons. I would like to plumb in some remotes someday.
