Lock down day two

Was cold, wet and windy yesterday, not a good day to be outside. So that made it a two nap day. Lol. But I did do a couple things, put my round bale feeder together. It's just a cheap, but it will have to do til I can afford something better.

Also started on the fence. These are just screwed on with one screw so far while I decide if I like it. Didn't see the leaning post til after, so that will get fixed.

Should be a nicer day today so I think I'll Finnish the fence and get the cattle outside. Then maybe work on cleaning the shop. Didn't get as much water running through it this year but still some, so the floor is covered in mud and it's just now drying up. Needs a good reorganization too, as you can tell I'm not real good at keeping things neat.

Wife is holding her own on the virus, still coughing a lot but no temps. This morning she was complaining about it hurting to breath some. But hoped that will pass.

Fence looks good to me!! What ever you do, don't let her have any Ibuprofin, it's supposed to make it worse. Chris

Your fence looks great. Sounds like your wife is on the mend, that's good. We ended up with 3 inches of the wet white stuff down here. Got new rock on the driveways, will have to wait a few days to level it. And your shop looks great compared to mine. Too many years of working too many jobs, that's my excuse. When you you let the cattle out you will find out how good your fences are, they usually make a pretty fast lap when they hit daylight.

Were it mine, I would make the right side a gate. Not a swinging heavy post idea, just a panel that rests in support hooks on the posts allowing it to be lifted off if access is needed between buildings. Jim

We?re pulling for you and yours Jon. Just a question. If the picture is taken from the house yard side . Would your boards be best served on the pasture side?

Our son in NJ was told by his medical team to not come in unless he got a fever, just quarantine, his first indication of the virus was he lost his sense of smell, that's a key indicator. He is getting a lot better now, he may never really know if he had the nnalert 19.

Just want to wish your wife the best in her battle with the virus. Be careful difficulty breathing can accelerate quickly. Hoping for the best, sms

Looks perfect following the slope. If they push on it too much, maybe add inside rails to match ?
Keep an eye on her respiratory condition, like was said, that can get out of hand in a hurry, causing other problems with it, hope she gets well real soon !!!

Get plenty of soup down her as much as she?ll take. and a teaspoon of honey and vinegar. If she complains put it on me.CM

Looks good! If the cows push on the board fence put a hot wire on their side. The neighbor farm I worked on when I was young had a lot of board fence set up that way and it never bothered. You could run a deck screw in along with nails and the boards will stay put. I hope you don?t get sick and your wife gets better soon.

I like Billy's idea. One rail about 2/3 the way up from the ground is all it would take.

I have found buying inexpensive bale rings is false economiy. I buy the TSC bull feeders which last a few years. The lite one maybe a single season.

King,
When is the next round table meeting. There's a lot of worldly problems that need to be discussed.

If you make a lift off gate and your cattle has horns, make some kind of locking mechanism on the gate.
