Glad it's taking off for you. Before you posted about I had never heard of it. You plant this as a cattle pasture feed or is do you also use it as a hay crop ? Most hay around here is clover, alfalfa, timothy, orchard grass, and birdsfoot ect. I know different things are grown for hay in different areas of the country. Some here have broom grass. That's new to me also !

There?s a fall variety which is what I plant because its dryland it will be at least three weeks before I could get in the field this fall crop will be 6 inches tall by then. There is also spring seeded varieties

Worked at a Coop a long time ago, The old Guy that knew everything,Perry I overheard him telling a customer that he could sow grass seed.11 months out of.a year. The customer then asked what month can't I sow seed. Perry answered, I don't know!
