Silver King Rear Engine Seal

I'm rebuilding the engine on a 1945 Silver King model 42 tractor (also known as a model "445"). It has a Continental F162 engine in it. I'm having a problem with the rear crankshaft seal. The rope seal that came with the gasket set seems to be for a seal retainer with a 1/4" notch for the rope, but the seal retainer on the engine has a 3/16" notch - and if I try to use the wider rope seal it is too tight on the crankshaft. The engine originally had a cork seal in it. Does anyone know where I can get a 3/16" seal that will fit?
