Hello everyone, I am going to start painting a 1945 Case DC-3, does anyone know if a 1945 Case DC-3 is Flambeau Orange or Flambeau Red? Also what color are the wheel rims? Thank you!

All Flambeau Red, which some people think its orange, but it IS NOT ORANGE! Black generator & starter if they have been rebuilt. Original rims were grey, most repaints of rims are using aluminum paint. Others may have a different opinion to give. Take your choice, it's your tractor.

The dc should be flambeau red. The later tractors are case
power red which is a little lighter. Case did use a darker red
on some implements which is close to Massey Ferguson red,
but that red was not used on tractors. When I do rims I use
aluminum paint. Originally they were galvanized and new rims
are the correct color if galvanized. But the aluminum paint
looks good and is close, closer than the cold galvanize paint I
think.

JAL .... what you are saying is that it was not "called" or "named" orange by Case. I would bet if you showed that color to 100 people on the street (away from a vintage tractor display), that 99 of them would tell you it is orange. The one guy who would say it's red would be color blind .... LOL !!!
