Starter brushes for Case 530 tractor (need source)

Solenoid went out on the starter, I will be ordering a solenoid from this site today. They don't seem to offer brushes. The ID tag on the starter is pretty rough, cant even tell what brand. It does have the following stamped on it: MOU 7102 A.

I don't want a total rebuild kit just a set of brushes, I don't really care if I have to solder the leads on. Can I get brushes by just measuring the existing ones or does something else cross reference?

This is a 1968 Case 530CK with a gas engine.

Might give YT a call, they have lots of parts that are not always listed here.

If they can't help, is there a starter shop near by? They could match them up.

Possibly a good auto supply, especially one that deals with trucks and equipment. Take the starter with you, they will probably recognize it.

I think the O in your starter numbers may be a D. That would make it a Prestolite MDU 7102 A. That comes up in some searches as a Case #A36581. With this info the YT store or a parts store should be able to get brushes for you. Or you can search on line for those brushes. Do you have a automotive electric rebuild shop near by? They may have the brushes and sell them to you.

Last time I needed brushes for a motor with no parts support I measured them and got help from the people at carbonbrush.com - not an exact match but close enough and working.

ANY auto parts store/NAPA, etc. can get you brushes if they are willing to put a little effort into it.

They can probably find then with their computer, best is if there's a guy that's been there forever that knows where their dusty copy of the Ag and Industrial electrical and Ignition parts catalog has been tossed.

Another option (good out fit to deal with) is Weitzel's D.C. Electric, Norwalk, Ohio 419-668-2844 (sells under the ebay store name Triodiode).

They will ship parts to you.

Looked up Triodediode on ebay found exactly what was needed. YT didn't have brushes but did have the solenoid. Thanks for the help.
