Both events now cancelled. The Pageant of Steam was more important as it was something more relevant to me personally but it looks like waiting for 2021 now. Bad enough that the crop year is off to a miserable start at least locally.

I just saw that about the Pageant of Steam on their web site. I haven't looked yet to see if the Alexander show is canceled. Maybe there is a chance since its in September normally.

I thought it was kind of neat that they wouldn't overlap. But, that's irrelevant now. I won't be doing anything extra. I couldn't get my second hip replaced last winter like I wanted to, and some days I worry I won't make it until this coming winter.
We just got a life saving[for now] 3/4" rain, but we're still operating at a deficit. So, who knows what the future brings?????

2/10 of an inch and locally things look very bleak concerning crops. I've got crop insurance but lately it has been impossible to string together a couple of very good crop years to deal with things that are multiyear investments such as rear tractor tires. The last couple of years have been about putting bandaids on things and my pickup truck is not getting any newer.

At last check Alexander is still on, Thu thru Sunday following Labor Day. Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled too.

We got about 1/10th of an inch when Friday night they were predicting more than an inch and possible flash flooding. Getting pretty dry around here too.

It would not be so bad but most of the crops around here were not planted until June. Heavy soil really needs to be planted in early May so some moisture recovery can occur before it starts going above 80 degrees. Go a few miles away on the sandy loam things were in a little late but still before Memorial Day and look excellent other than being a couple weeks later than normal for them.

Alexander steam show is having a directors meeting July 11th. Their news letter says they will make a decision at the meeting. My feeling are they will delay it till right before the show. they are money hungry.

Well, that sucks! Was looking forward to both those shows.
