I am too whupped to search the archives. Can someone tell me what to check first? Ford 951. Hooked up the finish mower and pto lever won't stay engaged. Runs about 30-45 seconds then kicks out. Thanks. Blistering hot in Alabama today. Picked a bunch of black beans and black eyed peas. Then the float on the 951 carb tried to beat us down. Kept sticking and flooding. Took that carb on and off 15+ times. Wife finally got it. Then plumbed up the cub gas line. Drove it around 2 minutes and it died. Would not re start. Pushed it to the barn and came in for supper. Good news......just to be sure I cut more grass with the sickle on the 960. Still no odd noise.

Grab the tractor pto shaft and see if it slides in and out. If it moves very much the c clip that holds it in place is not doing its job for some reason.

I have an 800, a 900, and a 4000 Ford. On
Ethanol fuel, the carb floats stick.
I now shut off the fuel and run the carb dry every night.
Solved the problem.
