That is a bright muffler. Good paint or it doesn’t run much!

I believe they had a kind of enamel muffler which could take the heat and not discoloured .

David Brown 880 3 cylinder tractor made from late 1964 to late 1965 when it was
replaced by the Selectomatic range of tractors. Being a 1965 tractor it has no
toolboxes each side of the seat. MJ.

Leland had a blue muffler that looked like porcelain.It was tough. May been paint like Bruce said or some sort of powder coating.

Wasn't it the 880 (or maybe 885) that was re-badged the Oliver 500?

The early Oliver 500 was based on a DB850 which was 4 cylinders versus the DB880 which was 3 cylinder. The later version Oliver 500 still used the DB850 4 cylinder but used the DB880 front axle and spindles and the DB880 rear end and final drives which were bigger and stronger than the DB850 ones.

990, usa, had porcelain muffler...they last...be blessed, grateful, prepared...cheaper than m-f 65/165
