Bin Moving With The 2140

Not a bad day for a bin move. I needed to move this little 1200 bushel hopper bin to my yard across a quarter section of wheat stubble. It worked pretty well once
I got a couple of telephone pole skids under it to prevent the dirt pushing up under it. Its one of the few times I've made use of a three point hitch other than
on the snow blower.

With it on skids. I 'd use it for surge space when combining by filling till the truck got back. Then let the driver run it out in the truck. Get done faster that way with no waiting.

Been watching & enjoying your videos for years....I don't remember all the outbuildings at the bin location. Probably just a different view, thanks for posting.

No, you won't have seen that yard and buildings in my videos before. Its not mine but a retired neighbour's yard. He is in the process of cleaning out the yard and the bins are for sale. I didn't really need more space but this small hopper will be handy for storing seed grain in the spring. Easier to clean out than the flat bottom, cement floored bins I've been using.

Rusty,

Another classic video. You have some very interesting adventures. Did you have to cross any public roads? Thanks for your efforts. Ron

Thanks Ron. No, it was all cross country driving. Just over half a mile as the crow flies but probably further as I was avoiding the sidehills following a less than straight line. . Its so dry this fall that all the sloughs have dried up so I didn't have to worry about getting stuck.

That would make a nice wet bin for us smaller farmers yet.

Or probably a good enough bin for the small grains areas like you are in. Little extra capacity.

Mid sized farms could put it on stilts and gravity feed a semi out of it, useful for them.

My distant neighbor shows up with a grain cart on tracks, 2000 bu. Probably wouldn’t be very helpful to his operation.....

Thats why the bins are for sale. Too small to be of much use to the big guys. One load in and they'd have to move the auger to the next bin. Still good for me though.
