How about some 1030 pics to celebrate 10/30?

Jon your posts have made me want some 30 series Cases. So a few weeks ago I picked up not one but three Case tractors. I got a 1030 with a cab for $35 and two 930's for 27 each. LOL Tom

So what was the reason they always seemed to have such short tires on the 1030's and taller ones on the smaller models? Our 830 had 18.4-34's on it and our 930 had 18-26 rice tires on it. The neighbor had a 1030 with what looked like 23.1-30's or some such combination on it. Why didn't they just put 18.4-38's or 20.8-38's on them?

No idea why, but it's not just case. Oliver liked 34" up to the 1850 and a lot of the allis 190s has them too. One farmer I worked for had 2-4430 jds with 20.8-34s on them. Case even used 34s on the90 series 4x4 tractors in the 80s. You could get the last 9/1030s with 18.4-38 tires I think.

Case had a wide range of wheel & tire options for the 7-1030s. as well as front axle configurations and tire sizes. The dealers spec. them as they wanted when they ordered them. We always ordered 930s with 18.4x34 rears and 11Lx15 fronts. We ordered 1030s with 18.4x38s and 10.00x16 fronts. These sizes for us were well suited to the tractors HP and our hilly ground, row crops, and in-furrow plows. I presume out in the midwest where a lot of the tillage equipment was not 3pt mounted that a bit smaller diameter wider tires such as 23.1x26 or 30s was a better option. They even offered 14.9x38 spin-out rears for veggie operations.
