Looking for a John Deere 362 gas engine. Was used in late 4020s and all 4000 tractors. Also used in 6600 and 7700 gas combines. Would appreciate any leads on one near southern Minnesota. Thanks in advance

That could work. Casting number needs to be R40670, R40680, R49520 or R49530. The casting number is behind the starter.

I got a 105 combine with that same engine, the combine is inside, buy the whole thing, tires are good, 10 ply! 701 883 4422, South East North Dakota, i Was just in Windom a couple days ago!

I have an engine that was removed from a 105 gas as well. I am located in southwest WI. I will have to check block numbers. It ran great when removed from the combine. It will be cheap. Tom

I just checked it. I am use to being around diesel 4020's and they have big numbers cast into the side of the block. This engine does not. It looks like they were ground off at the factory. There are some real little numbers stamped. There is an R40 and the rest is hard to read. The serial number plate on the other side says M21HA with a sn of 223908R. This came out of a late 105 sn 19696 and my cab has a factory date of April 69. Call me this evening about 8pm at 608-623-2851. Tom

Tom, According to the parts book the model number and serial number you have should be the right engine

I’m still looking for a late 362 with 7 main bearings. Casting number needs to be R40670, R40680, R49520 or R49530. The casting number is behind the starter. Unless it has these casting numbers the 105 combine engine has 4 main bearings.
