I try to buy only free shipping things on ebay, amazing i can go on ebay, buy an item lets say its $16 free shipping were the same thing around here at the store is $36 or more🤔. I love ebay, i just hate that they were forced to collect sales tax now, ☹️

Ebay is a pretty good place if you have the time to wait for the part to get to you most times it is hear in about a week . The tax thing was bound to happen I guess Uncle Sam figured out how much revenue he was Missing out on .

I agree . I’d about bet there is a full scale allis Chalmers 4wd in a scrap yard somewhere you could pick up for about that money . I’d do enjoy my toys as well but I don’t have anything like these in my collection with the way prices are lately I don’t think I could sell my whole collection for a whole lot more than what just this one piece brought and I bet it would take a year to do it .

It's ineradicable the amount of work that goes into making that model. It's understandable the maker trying to get paid for his work but on the other hand they should know nobody is going to pay that price. That is why I don't make such things. No telling how many things I've made that there was more labor put into it than I could charge for.

Actually the states are the ones who collect sales tax. And it's also the states who first started with little known laws that required residents to keep track of mail an online purchases and to remit the sales tax along with their income taxes (for my fellow MN residents yea they had that law on the books at least 15 years ago). So it wasn't the feds. In fact states wanted the feds to collect said taxes from each vendor along with records and disperse said monies to each respective state.

The one you have pictured looks to be hand crafted out of wood and they spent a lot of time on the details but I'm sure someone shopping would compare the two and the price.
