Man, this photo makes my day.
Absolutely beautiful including the country side.
Wish we knew where this is.

That is stunning. I then think of the effort to get the entire process going. All incoming grain was in sacks, all loading by lifting and hand trucks at best. Taken to an upper floor
platform to be put in the hopper. ground and again bags filled. Greasing the shafts and open gear drives takes another half hour. Walking the intake to keep trash out. woof, real work for
real food. sitting down for 5 minutes for a cool drink of the water going by, petting the cat.
The Avery provides a different set of conditions, but just as much work.
This would feed a community of 200. when grain was being milled by indigenous people it could feed about 10 and took more time. Seriously cool image. Jim

My guess is a 25-50. 1919 or later because I see the handle on the flywheel used to start it. I drove one in our threshing show
this year and even got to start it. 2 pulls is all it took. We had a 1917 25-50 on the farm that had a crank on the clutch side

I’m not an expert and I don’t play one on tv, but here’s my
argument for 40-80. The size of the drivers in relation to
everything else in that picture and the configuration of the
cab. A 40-80 has a much more rectangle side window than
the 25-50’s square window. Both have the starting handle.
