Not sure I am up to trip

My new tractor is 350 miles away, so that is at least 6 hours each way, just not sure I am up to dragging trailer that far this time of year. I am going to check into shipping.

just throw money at a problem, sometimes is the best solution. No breakdowns, no bad weather or slick roads, time at home to accomplish getting ready to receive your new tool. Just be sure they are an insured carrier. gobble

leave in the morn, drive 3 hrs., stop for lunch.

Drive 3 hrs. more, get tractor loaded.

Turn around and drive 3 hrs., stop and eat dinner.

Drive 3 hrs. more, youre home.

Use the money you saved on shipping to get a jump on ordering the parts it needs!

Strange that the dealer won't deliver it. The Deere dealer I used to work for did so I assumed they all did. Maybe the smaller dealerships like ours had to go the extra mile?

Sure can't blame you for not wanting to pull that load that far where you are located at this time of the year.

Check with John Deere dealers in that area, see if they are coming to the QC to pick up anything. Might get a deal on shipping on their empty truck.

By hauling it yourself, you can pick the travel days. Having someone else move it, it will move on their schedule. I'm not sure I would want a bunch of road salt spray on my new tractor. Ron

I am surprised that the dealer didn’t offer delivery on a new tractor . You might still want to discuss it with them, they may be willing to help you out, especially if you are flexible on the delivery time. They may have a truck coming near you soon to pick up something for repair and could haul your tractor then.

You might be on the road for a long while if your only going to move when the roads are clear and dry and the salt has been blown off.

Using a curtain side trailer it would keep most if not all the salt and road grime off during the trip. Will cost a we bit more since it is a more expensive trailer. Could also spray it down with WD-40 or some other product like that to protect it for the trip. If it has the short axles so it is not over the 102 width I would just have the curtainside do it. Lots of them around so should not be to hard to get one. Whatever you do,don't tarp it. The paint will be worn off every place the tarp rubs. Besides if you're filing a farm income tax the freight is deductible.

I would be all over a road trip. I like to plan an easy pace, stay overnight, pick out a restaurant where I can sample local microbrews for dinner. Next day see some sites in the area, and then take a leisurely ride home. You still have the option of getting it hauled if too much time passes without a good weather forecast.

I to love a good road trip. Drive there first day eat a good meal in a fine restaurant. Stay overnight in a motel. Load up next morning and head home.
Picking a window of opportunity in the weather of course.

Never put ANYTHING with silicone (i.e. WD40) on a painted surface if you might ever want to paint it in the future.

Got a quote for 2 per loaded mile from dealer.

I have been having neck issues which cause me to be dizzy, will stay home.
