Yes. I use one on an overhead tank for gasoline. It seems to be accurate. I checked it be filling a measured gallon container several times and it was spot on.
 
I worked at an equipment rental co. for a while, and we used that same one on the 1 inch water hose. We sold bulk asphalt sealer and the asphalt guys added water to thin the mix. (some were thinner than others) Worked good never had a problem.
 
I see the temp. range is +14F to 130F. Mite not work for you in the winter. We always took ours off the water hose in the winter.
