Speaking of Tokheim hand pumps

Got an old Tokheim lever type pump I put on a diesel tank to fill my torpedo heaters in the shop.

It siphons after I quit pumping.

Nature of the beast, or do I have a vent plugged somewhere?

If I can't stop the siphoning, I'll just put a ball valve on the hose before the nozzle.
Thanks

Should have a vent in the top where the hose connects. At least the newer ones do. Screw in white metal plug, with a little hole in it.

I have a ball valve on mine just the same. With a pressurized cap, heat will push fuel out the pump.

I have 3. All of them take a few seconds to drain the hose after I'm done pumping. They all dribble(syphon?) till you hang up the hose. One is worse than the others.Just besure you hang the hose up above the pump securely so it doesnt fall down to where it could syphon.
