Thanks for all of your calculations! I think I will place the one to one gearbox just below the belt pulley on the back of the tractor. The pulley that it has on it is 6.5 inches. The pulley I have for the shaft that turns 1280 rpms is 10.5 inches. If I was to put a 6 inch pulley on the input side of that gearbox how close would that get me to the 1:2.42 ratio you gave me. Mrs. Clashman was my algebra teacher and I know she covered this. But since I haven't use it for so long I have lost it. When we get old we need to do things like this to keep our minds working!
