Allis Chalmers D14 hydraulics

First time to ask this , I have a Allis Chalmers D14 with a trip bucket loader, I would like to install a PTO driven Hydraulic pump to change the trip bucket to a Hydraulic cylinder operated bucket, and also use the pump to operate the loader, Will I need a separate oil tank for this or can I route the hoses thru the tank on the tractor where the hydraulics run the lift arms ? Thanks

Old is right going to be hard to keep you fluid levels right, seperate tank will work a lot better.

And if I was going to di a separate pump I certainly would consider going up front either to the end
of the engine crank or belt driven . Would make for a much better set up.

(quoted from post at 16:16:43 02/16/21) 4-5 gal tank should be just fine. My Ford 841S has a loader on it and the tank is 4 gal and has worked just fine for decades
Do you use a belt driven external pump/ and if so what kind do you use and where can you get one, Thanks for your replies.

The usual pumps for loaders are shaft driven off the crank. Belts are more prone to slip unless you have a dedicated pulley to drive the belt. Check out the answers you got when you asked this a few days ago in the Allis forum. DrAllis gave you another option as well.
