Good or bad

You will be happier with a newer baler. Dad had a Super 77 then a 269. I think the Deere balers of the 269 vintage were simpler and better.

Those older balers didn't have very good pick-ups, no way to put extra teeth in their either, that i know of !! Just my opinion, and i like the deer better also! Most of the 66, have just the short two joint PTO, there not to good on corners!

They can be a good enough baler but they are getting old. How much baling do you do? If you can buy it cheep and it is not wore out, go for it.

Loaded quite a few bales out of a 66, made good bales, no knotter problems but that was 30myears ago. If it's in good shape go for it.

It all depends on it's condition and your expectations. If it's in great shape overall, knotters in good repair and everything up to snuff, and IF you aren't expecting to make 5 or 10K bales over the summer, it might work for you. Newer balers with more capacity and improved pickups and feeding will do a lot more work. I wouldn't pay more than $750 for a real nice 66 myself.

Don't know but in the end, the bad gets killed and the good and they ugly share the gold. lol That may apply to farm equipment too.

Got about 5 acres to cut and they said everything worked and it looked nice asking 800 thought that wouldn't be to much to do a little trial and error
