Does any know the correct size of the oil pump plunger, guess tractor H and M some parts books had the incorrect information for that plunger and wrong part was installed.

Measure the relief valve bore and subtract 0.0015. It should be cylindrical, and slide full length in all rotational directions using engine oil as a lube. Jim

I guess I did not explain my self well enough. The plungers are all the same size except some are smaller in diameter on the bottom end, closed end of plunger for maybe half an inch. That was the mix up in parts.

So, they only come in one size but one style has a smaller end.

And, like I said before, the side clearance is the important thing. The end cover problems are normally on the smaller tractors that used the pot medal end cover and it warps. Sure, you want a smooth end cover and minimum end clearance but when the shaft right above the gear is worn, you will have poor oil pressure at low rpm, warmed up. If you can move that gear back and forth, shaft is worn.
