Removing stuck gas shocks or gas struts

Im trying to replace the gas cylinders on the doors and roof hatch but I cant seem to grab a hold of them to thread them off. Any one have advice.

What are you working on? Many have ball sockets on the ends, that pop off with a little prying. Some have a Spring wire lock on the socket, that you can pop loose and pull out to remove the socket from the ball.

In addition to SkipperII info, some are permanently attached to the ball and the ball unthreads from the vehicle. Youtube is upon occasion your friend. We don't know what you are working on!! Jim

Its a ford 5610 series 2, I found out I have to unbolt the cab roof to remove a bolt holding them.
