Took my little tractor

to the Stephenson Co., Freeport Il. antique engine show today for a couple of hours, was a little warmer than I can take. This show used to fill up the fair grounds every year, now it's been moved down the road to the museum and train depot area, wasn't much there, couple dozen tractors, half dozen garden tractors and some nice old cars.

The little Wheel Horse drew some attention from the people that had them or still use them. Wheel Horses were pretty popular until Toro bought them out and discontinued making them.

My dad had a wheel horse.
If I recall they was a cast iron washer
to held the plades

In place. Hit anything and the washer was like glass, shattered into pieces.

This old craftsman isn't as good looking or collectable as yours.

I removed the mower deck. Put tractor bar tires on it. Some wheel horses were true garden tractors that pulled a disk or plow.

One of my disk is a wheel horse disk.

The antique craftsman has a gear box like the old cub cadets and wheel horse garden tractor6
Craftsman is my little garden tractor I disk garden with.

Do you have a implements for yours.
Did you put turf tires on yours?

Yours is a WINNER, a show girl.

First lawn tractor that we had and I used was a Wheel Horse 800 Special. 36 inch rear discharge deck. Was a good mower ! Dad gave it away as the engine was wore out. Sure wish we still had it !

I got the mower and blade for this one, was going to rebuild them this summer but haven't had the urge yet.

I got four of them horses with two blades, two four foot decks and a three foot tiller.

Friend had a rear tiller with his.

I have a JD275 with a rear tiller.

All nice second generation garden tractors.

I think the Cub was the first generation garden tractor.

Little Wheel Horse is a 1966, came out of a junk Yard in about 1980, been laying in a pile in the back of my shed for close to thirty years before I made a move on it.

Toro could still sell some of them if made to the same quality.

Their Toro/Wheel Horses had lots of bells and whistles but were not nearly as well received.

I think MTD owns them now. And the last Toro riders I have seen were MTD junk.

Your wheel horse was yesterday's garden tractor.
I'll keep my JD 275. Not a show girl, a working girl.
Would you say that Kubota makes today's small garden tractors with their BX series?
Anyone else make today's garden tractors?
