Young Son and his tractor

My son Barry passed Friday at the age of 43. I'd like to share a few pics of him with his 1958 MF 65. He had been ill for many months but on July 15 he asked me to haul it over to his buddy's place to mow the back part of the property. Sunday morning July 18 I had to take him into the ER and he never recovered. He wanted to drive that tractor one last time. The first pic is the tractor in the weeds in 2014. He dug the mud daubber nest out of cylinder #1, replaced some valves and push rods and got it running. It has the factory tractor meter and cable still working. Thanks for letting me share. jy

The plowing picture is from a club plowday. This is probably one of the few if not the only time 2 Masseys plowed the same field in Lavaca County TX at the same time. I don't recall ever seeing one when I was growing up. It was all Ford and IH and a few JD's.
 
I am at a loss to express my sadness for your loss. But I have found great solace in the words and music of Squire Parson's song, Sweet Buelah Land, as sung by T. Graham Brown. I pray that it might help you.

I just went down to the lower barn and started the tractor up. The battery is north of 6 years old. Pulled the choke and boom, kicked right off.
 
With all the tragic things a family might have to contend with, the death of a child must be at the top of the list. I'm thinking of you and your family from up here north of the 49th.
 
As I said in your earlier post, we're so sorry for your loss, so wrong to lose your children. The pictures show a nice history of your son and his enjoyment using the tractor. May your family find peace in the days ahead.
