New tie rods

How tight should the nuts be on new tie rod ends.the old ones were finger tight with the cotter pin through the castle nut.this is on a kubota tractor

I would tighen them up pretty good. Don't want them to work in the hole or nothing will stay tight then. This is if the hole is a tapered one.

They need to be reasonably tight.

Take it to a snug position, then go to the next available cotter pin notch. You do not want to have to back off just to get the cotter pin in.
