Stuck cub motor UPDATE

Took head off,10+ weeks ago, didn't look too bad. Filled cylinders with transmission fluid, then Free All, then Deep Creep, then transmission fluid with acatone, then transmission fluid with gas and set it on fire. Still stuck. 4ft pry bar in ring gear won't move it. Filled cylinders with vinegar, still stuck. Valves all moved when we pry with a screwdriver. Decided it's a parts tractor. Took off hydraulic pump (froze solid) took off magneto (froze solid) can't turn it with a huge pair of pliers. Took off governor...you guessed it, froze solid. Now how was any snake oil treatment ever gonna free up this motor??? Keep in mind only one cylinder had a small amount of rust visible. All the fluids drained past the rings in 3 of them. Beat on it with a wood block and big hammer.......it ain't never gonna run again.

One more thing......got a pipe wrench on the front pulley, it will turn, fairly easy, but motor won't move????

What else is froze? Clutch? Transmission? Maybe everything if froze but the Pistons;)

I think you just proved you shouldn't leave a tractor outside in the rain.
Despite it doesn't freeze in Alabama, tractor parts will freeze up.
It that about right??

Remove the crank. Good chance it will be locked up too.
Rings may be rusted to pistons.
If I recall the valves looked bad too.
Sounds like you have a donor tractor or yard art.

Did you strip it down to the short block only with nothing connected to the crankshaft and try it? With all the things you mentioned frozen, maybe they were what wouldn't move, not the crankshaft and mounted components. I had a problem with a newly purchased, used vehicle and it turned out that the alternator was frozen and preventing normal rotation of the engine proper. Almost burned up a brand new starter that I had just replaced thinking it was the problem.....12 year old car that was born in the rust belt.

Drop the crank and pound the pistons out. If the sleeves are OK it may run again. Dad had a DC Case stuck that bad, a set of rings after loosening it up and it ran fine. Lots of time and sweat invested though....

I bet the one with rust is the only one that is froze. The other 3 (with fluid running through rings) are free but just won't move because of the one thats frozr. If it were me, I'd take that one crank rod bearing cap off and find out. If you take that one cap off, the crank should move one direction or the other if just that one cylinder froze. If not just that one cylinder, the crank will still not move.

Broken key way on crankshaft under the pulley is what is going on at the pulley. I'd drop the pan and have a look see inside and maybe take the rods loose and see if you can move the pistons. Plus be able to look for rust other places

im kinda thinking with all the hurricanes and flooding down your ways that tractor was under water at some point and not properly serviced.

C60 - no sleeves (or valve seats for that matter)

What's the plan ......yard art, then a parts tractor

The front pulley on these Cubs is a TIGHT shrink fit. The amount of force required to get one of these pulleys off without heat, I cannot see how it is possible for the pulley to be spinning on the crank. If it is, the crank is no good anyway.

I do suspect a broken crank, though.
