Wondering what this is, sitting for years. Diesel engine. Estimated value?

I think Id sure like to have it . If I can find one Id like to find a loader like that or a skid loader and send this old prehistoric farmhand f11 to the rock pile

Not seeing rear wheel pattern its a toss up. 3550 or 4400 or 420 or one of several hard nose models built before 1978.

I have to agree with SV, looks like a loader tractor to me.

Actually, looks like a Ford 5000. It has gear drive transmission. Likely a 4 speed with hi/lo range. Someone has replaced the steering cylinder at some point with a fairly common tie-rod cylinder, this is the red cylinder in the bottom picture.

With the turf tires it's not going to have good traction for loader work. Looks like it had a backhoe on it at one point.

Sitting for years says there's probably something wrong in the engine, transmission or rear-end.

Running, in operable condition, it's probably worth 5-6,000. Non-running, it's worth scrap price.

Looks like a 3500.3 cyl,gas or diesel. Some had a shuttle shift, this one does not. They were decent tractors in their day
Still are.As said,if not running,scrap price
In good running shape,5 to 7000.

The model number might be on that flat spot in the front edge of the hood at the top center of the grille.

Ford had a different model number depending on what features the tractor had. 4-speed was one model, 5-speed another, shuttle shift had a different model, if it had a cupholder that was a separate model too...

The photos appear to show a tractor not all bented twisted or hacked up.
it actually shows a honest fairly well care for tractor. If you can get it priced right and fired
up it could be a keeper for sure

Shawn, I knew you'd be close.
Without seeing the lug pattern it could be a 3500 too.
Not a 4400 as they weren't a hard nose.
Looks like it had a hoe on it at one time and never had 3 point.
What is with the cylinder on the left side?
Something to do with the steering but that is the end of my guess.

Muffler towards the back of the hood makes it a 65-75 model
It has the heavy duty planetary rear axle with wet disc brakes
Ford only built two hard nose models during that time period with that rear axle
4500 was one but it has a different front axle and heavier model 740 loader. I have a 4500
3550 had a front axle like in the photo and the lighter model 735 loader that's also in the photo
The tractor has a 6x4 manual reverser transmission that has 3 forward and 2 reverse gears in each of the low and high ranges giving it 6 forward gears and 4 reverse gears
It appears to have a home made hydrostatic steering system which isn't a bad thing if done properly, the original steering was average at best and steered on the slow side
With no lift arms, backhoe hooks and flip over backhoe seat I'd say it originally had a backhoe, most likely it doesn't have a pto

The reason it was parked might determine its value. It does not look like it has been sitting for too many years, but the exhaust is not covered. If you can buy it for scrap/salvage price it might be worth the risk, but I would not count on it even be a good parts donor anymore. $500 for the tractor and $250 for the loader as-is, where it sits?
