Or Birds of a feather---KCM had a picture of a Case on here last week with its wide front sticking way out in front and I commented if the engineers stepped back and said--that is the future look of tractors to come--Well I saw this on another site and guess what---Tee

They call them--Anteaters

Ant Eaters were fairly popular in my neighborhood back in the day. We had an IH dealer close by. If they were used for the purpose they were intended for they held up fairly well.

The old letter series two banger Deeres had a wide front that stuck out like that.

Local IH dealer had a plow day when the 2+2 was introduced--plowing sod. He had it and a couple of 86 series if I remember right. Got to drive them all. You are right about driving them if you are used to driving a normal 4 wheel drive--It is like driving an accordion.

I imagine the design was to still be able to mounted cultivators. That position surely would help with keeping the front end dow, the SC row crop I spend hours on had a problem of not being heavy enough. Certainly would be easy to keep it in the plow furrow!. Leo

That 100 series Ford is it, Ive not seen a front end that sticks out like that.

I have a Schwartz widefront on my 960, its pretty nice.

Did not think the factory versions looked like that?

And wide front with the tie rods out front were troubling, too easy to bump and bend those tie rods over the years.
