Hub cap

Can anyone tell me if this dust cap/hub cap on this old axle is threaded on or pounded on? I want to get them off without ruining them.

yes can see where a big open end wrench would be used. must have had a special wrench for them.

Came right off with a filter wrench.
Is that a factory cap or an after market?

Its a replacement cap with a similar, but not quite trademark infringing logo for a 1929-'30 Chevrolet.

What is telling you it is not original? The ring in the center was wore in by the cotter pin.

its just not quite the Chevrolet ''bowtie'' emblem- the center part of the design has no raised sections, top and bottom like a Genuine Chevy cap would.
