I am helping a friend repair a Yanmar engine on a Morbark chipper. It has a damaged Turbo. The model number on the engine is 4019TF005 which I believe is a 4TNE84T-JS model. I have located a Turbo to fit a 4TNV84. Will it work? Comments regarding the correct turbo would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You would have to call a Yanmar engine dealer with the serial number of engine to get the correct part number for the turbo. To many variations of the 4TNE84T.Unless you know the Yanmar part number of the turbo on the engine and the turbo you found as replacement would be the only way to see if replacement turbo will be the correct one.

I am by no means a Yanmar Expert, but when overhauling the engine in my 650 John Deere/Yanmar tractor last fall I learned something interesting. The model number on my engine had a J in it and I learned that this engine was built specially to Deere's specs and that some parts were available only through a Deere dealership. Just something to be mindful of in your hunt for parts.
