Pinkish-red flowers in Missouri fields

I guess tractors are used on those fields, so maybe OK to ask here: What are the low-growing pinkish-red flowering plants at this time of year in western Missouri? The color of red clover, but definitely not red clover. They cover large areas of tilled ground. I'm heading for Tulsa at the end of the month and will see these plants again; every few years I have to ask again what they are. I need a notebook or tattoo to help me remember.

Is this what you mean?

Around here (SE PA) there are fields of purple deadnettle in the early Spring.
Purple deadnettle and henbit: Two common garden (or field) spring weeds. Both are Winter annuals and both have pink or purple flowers.

Yes, that's exactly it. I come from south-central Minnesota by way of north-central Iowa so am not familiar with that plant. It's pretty to look at but looks pretty invasive. Thanks for the photo.

Thanks, everyone, for the photos, descriptions and suggestions. Henbit seems to be the weed of choice. I'll have to keep repeating henbit, henbit, henbit so I don't have to ask again in a year or two or three. Of course, by then all I'll remember is it has something to do with some sort of fowl -- maybe chickweed? or chicken grass? or goose grass? or duck weed? or ....?
