Yup, 1932 was the first year for the V8, but this truck (if the lack of ''V8'' emblems is to be believed) has the ''B'' block, 4 cylinder engine- an improved version of the 200.5 cu. in. flathead 4 that powered the Model ''A''s.

Ford offered this engine alongside its revolutionary (and far more popular) Flathead V8 until 1934.

Larry,
In the 50-60s dad had that dump bed on a 2 wheel axle.
Pull on a rope, pop the clutch on the tractor and the trailer dumps. All mechanical, no hydraulics..
Dad said many roads were built with trucks that small during the WPA days..

My dad and his older brother told of early, gravity dumps hauling green peas to the viners. On an uphill grade, if you had to stop, and let the clutch out too quickly, the front end of the truck would come off the ground, and a couple guys would have to grab the front bumper and pull the front back down.

Shortly after production ended in Dearborn, Henry Ford shipped the Model AA truck tooling to Russia
and they built them there until 1950's. The engine was the BB type. They were also used in Russian
Jeeps until late 40's. A little later, the 33 Ford sedan tooling was also shipped to Russia and they
were available until late 40's, mostly for official use. The 32 BB engine was still used in Ford pickups
made in East Germany until about 1958. My neighbor bought one to put in his 32 truck. It has oil pressure,
insert bearings and counterbalanced crankshaft.
There is now a new Model A engine available with the German improvements, but also with a 5 main crankshaft and
better oiling. It will run up to 5,000 rpm, and put out up to 150 hp. Some Swedish guys took a late model Mustang 4 cylinder and put it in a modified Model A and they really make it scream.
