NOT mine, thankfully. Found in the depths of the 'net somewhere.

I hate it when that happens. Not had that in about 40 years now. didn't do much whipping or the frame rails would look about like that drive shaft.

(quoted from post at 10:02:37 05/02/22) Defently torque, looks like just replaced for as clean as it is.

Yep, I'm thinking someone got the wall thickness wrong when they made a "new" driveshaft.

That was a case of too thin a tube, like one had said it look brand new, just painted, the shop didnt have the right thickness, substitute seldome always work out!

thats a bit worse than my 2000 gmc 2500 driveshaft--found out they had a recall to replace them--new drive shaft was about 2 inch diameter greater than the old one

The rear u joint caps are brand new not rusty.
Probably twisted it taking off out of the repair shop.
Not moving enough to beat the frame rails, brake lines, wiring, etc.

Looks like some lines did get ripped out.

I wonder if they will replace entire shaft assembly or just weld in a new thicker tube?

I did that on the 1965 Ford 1 ton I have. Had a load of gravel in the bed and got it in a bad spot and dumped the clutch to get out. It did move but not far

wore out,

Should da have pushed the yellow knob on the dashboard. The new low RPM's High torque engines will do that at idle speed,

Guido.

I agree with Guido. Operator error. Or most likely not a driver. Just some kid at the driveline shop who was told to move it.
