Deere 467 baler

Baled my first 8 bales tonight with my new 467 baler. Took awhile to figure the bale monitor out and get the net wrap going. Sure makes a nice bale. Old baler was 4x4. I am making 4x5's now. Sure is a good bit more hay per bale. I want to mess with the variable core feature some tomorrow as these bales are super tight. I think the bale kicker might be coming off as I have already put one bale where I did not want it and I am not even on the hilly fields yet. LOL Maybe wife can get some pics. Next project is the AC in the 4230 as it has a leak. Adding a can a day right now but only have one more day of baling and 2 more of chopping untill it gets a break. Tom

I can visualize how push-bar could create problems on hilly fields.
You can ""disable the bale push-bar(kicker)"" by disconnecting the chains on each side & placing loose chain ends on hook on each side. In addition to lowering core pressure you could also lower bale forming hyd pressure. JD X67 & newer models seem to be very good & reliable rd hay balers. My 2nd 467 is approaching 60,000 combined bales using two 467's.

You will get used to the push bar on hills. No different that unhooking the forage box on a hill... just think before you do it.

What is a push bar? I am thinking of fabricating a kind of spring loaded ramp for my old Hesston baler to let the bale out on so it will let the bale roll away a bit from the baler. It annoys me that I have to back up a little before unloading a bale. Otherwise the dropped bale is in the way when letting the tailgate down. Is such a simple ramp what you call a push bar?

Push-bar moves rearward & pushes rd bale when rd baler tailgate is opened. JD offered bale ramp on smaller rd balers. I've never operated a baler with bale ramps. But I think I would prefer bale ramp over JD rd baler push-bar. I once accidently put a rd bale in stock pond when I had rear of baler aimed in incorrect direction.
