Made some hay

Dad managed to get some hay knocked down a few days ago before the haybine started giving him issues. Not a lot but it was a good first test for the equipment. I made 15 5 foot rounds today. No it wasnt a lot. Had a tough time with the round baler at first. For some reason the hay didnt want to feed into the chamber and kept plugging. Then all of a sudden after several attempts it worked fine the rest of the afternoon. This was also the first time we had our Oliver 1650 gas in the field since we were having all kinds of issues with it running poorly and stalling. That seems to run great now. Next thing is getting the haybine to cut correctly. I didnt mess with it since I posted here. Too much else going on. Any way the bales are made and in the barn ! Off to a start finally !

I baled some hay the other day. Any more I can only handle running the Farmall BA and hour or so cutting so what ever gets cut in an hour gets baled. Got 4 bales the other day. Was going to put them in the hay barn but the Ford 841S that I use to stack hay with had 2 flats and the rear flat would not stay up long enough to do much. Just got done welding a patch on the rim and have to wait till tomorrow for a new tube. I did mow for an hour yesterday so likely to bale tomorrow again

A little at a time is better than nothing at all ! I wish we were able to have had more to bale. Weathers been weird here the last few days. Highs only in the mid 60s to high 60s. Been pretty windy and sunny though. Hay dried down quick. Have some more decent weather coming I think. Hopefully we came get a bunch more done !

We have had rain here and there, but the air is dry. Hay dried quicker with cooler temps and less humidity than it would being hot and humid. It was kinda nice sitting on the tractor baling at 67 degrees with a nice breeze !

After being in high 80's to high 90's for a while getting to comforatable temps, northwest Ohio.

All my first is down and half of it rolled up and still got rained on since I got done baling about dark. It has been drying since and am going to check it. If it is dry enough I'm going to put it in with some room around it to make sure it is dry. then rake and finish baling today if possible.
