I don't get out from under the shade tree that much.
This is what my squeaking Cadillac brake pads look like.

ACDelco Silver 14D1896CH Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pad Set.

In the bottom of the pic are 4 springs that keep pads from dragging on the rotor.

Do they make a tool to keep spring and pads in place while you install the caliper?

I invented new longshoreman words trying to get my front brakes back together. Then I used the caliper to hold the one end of the pads in place and then install the spring on the other end of the pad. Please tell me there is a tool.

I get by without a tool, I just hold them together with one hand and get the caliper started over the pads with the other hand. If you need a tool maybe a mini C clamp or an assistant would work.

I have a selection of square wood sticks that are rotor thickness which I use to keep the pads in place. I pull the stick out as I place the caliper on the rotor. Jim

No drum brakes for me.
I have to invent more words to get the emergency brake cable attached to rear brakes on my 2007 GMC.
Disks are 10x easier with the exception of the spring.

Soooooo, what is your point?
Many post here have nothing to do with
tractors.
Just count them..
Cry to administion if you feel the need.

Dont forget the rest of us tradesmen. This is our punishment for not getting a college degree! Lol

I don't think so. I invent sound alike
words instead of swearing.
Favorite is shive a get.

How about ''Fricastraten sadafrattic fuddermudderwhat''? Benn usin' that over 60 years since I heard it from a younger friend(recently deceased) Serves my needs !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those spring wires are right aggressive. Once you get the pans in You can bend the tab over on the hardwire then that may not hold'em..

Carpenter Clamps

I'm not following your instructions.
I'll invent something the next time I plan to replace the front
pads.
There has to be a tool used on the assembly line.

'Fricastraten sadafrattic fuddermudderwhat'

That sounds like a line from the Christmas Story.
I like..

Thanks, I'll try your trick.
I was thinking of using a C clamp to hold the pads in place.
Install the springs and then use a zip tie or a rubber band to
pull the 2 springs together. Hopefully the pulling will keep the
pads in place when I remove the Clamp..
Install the caliper, cut the zip tie or rubber band.
I would like to see the tool used at the factory.
