If it were a diesel, yes it would be rare. Alas, it is a gas engine so not quite. Still rare by JD or IH standards.

really? wonder how they came up with that number? there is over 2600 of them tractors. they are trying to pull the whole sheep over someones eye's. and the price is just as stupid.

I wouldnt call it rare. Hard to find for sure especially in the US. There where mostly Wheatland models up here where we are. No definite numbers that I can find on how many row crop , Wheatland , or diesel. The diesels definitely the rarest if you want to use that word. I think there where close to 3000 all together built.

Total production, sure. All gas, diesel, row crop, and standard combinations combined. Tractordata says 2748 total production.

The one in the ad is a standard tread, and given the waning popularity of standard tread tractors in the mid-50's, I'd say no more than a few hundred total were made. The lion's share of 333's would have been row crops. Every other model tractor of the time came mostly as row crops. IH had even stopped making standard tread tractors in that size (i.e. there was no W-300, only the 300U).

I can't tell from the tiny picture, but if it's a diesel, that would reduce the numbers further. Most tractors that size were gasoline powered at that time.

99? That's an awfully convenient number, but I would not have a hard time believing that less than 200 Massey Harris 333 Standard Diesel tractors were made.

They are forgetting the lowest production model. LP! Dot know how many were built. I had a factory built one, Single front wheel with spin out rears. Kick myself for selling it.

Looks like a gas upon close examination....a lot more than 99 made, several
sold here last fall in similar condition for 3000 or so CAN.

just because the owner perhaps has not seen another one does not make it rare. Didnt we see a whole flatbed going to the scrapper last week? Bill
