The only thing I touched at this point is the tappet cover to get a look at the tappets/valves.

Great effort deserves great reward. One caution that is a very real concern is concrete blocks. They have very low and unpredictable strength when placed sideways (holes horizontal) they are some better when the holes are vertical, but need a board on top and bottom to spread force. I have lost friends to the exploded block!! Wood is way more reliable and structurally forgiving. An 8foot $X$ cut into 2 foot lengths is cheap and great cribbing Jim
 
Some times its good to do something that makes an obvious improvement. Maybe sand down the hood. Keeps you from getting discouraged.
 
Yes, get rid of the fragile concrete blocks. They will shatter. Replace with 6x6 wood blocks.
 
You guys all missed the part of the title which said these pictures were taken BEFORE he started working on it!!

He has since posted other pictures of the stripped down tractor and it is no longer sitting on those concrete blocks.
